The piano tuner When I was about maybe 10 years old, our classroom had a piano at the back. One day, a piano tuner came to tune the piano. He was at the back of the room going plunk, plunk, and playing a note here and a note there. And then I heard a sound that I had never, ever heard before. It was this astonishing note. It was like singing, except that it was not a person. I went to the back of the room to see what it was that made such an astonishing sound. The piano tuner had a tuning fork, which I had never seen before. It was a metal thing that had two prongs on it and a handle. He showed me how he could tighten or loosen the strings on the piano to change the pitch of a note slightly higher or lower. It was an "A" note. He said he would know when the "A" note was at the perfect pitch, because when it was absolutely perfect, the tuning fork would start to sing. The tuning fork would sing because the piano note was at the perfect right frequency. Once again, for my benefit, the piano tuner touched the perfectly-pitched "A" key on the piano, so I could hear the amazing sound when the tuning fork sang. The analogy We are all tuning forks. Want to know what your frequency is? Look around. Listen. Your life as it is perfectly sings the song of the frequency you are emitting. Do you love what you see and hear? Congratulations! Keep singing that song. Are you less than delighted with what you see and hear in your life and your business? Change your "frequency" or your "vibration." In our lives and in our businesses, we want to be tuning forks for our intentions and goals so that whatever is our intention, we are at that frequency. That will manifest our intention. We don't have to chase it. If we are at that frequency, we will magnetically draw it to us. It will sing its song for us. That's why it is so important in our businesses and our lives to be in alignment with our soul's purpose - so we are in harmony. Our lives and our businesses are singing the song we were born to sing. Shifting our vibration There are an infinite number of ways to shift your "frequency" so you can be a tuning fork for your perfect life and business, in alignment with your soul's purpose. Here are three easy ways. Have fun. The easiest way to be a tuning fork for our intention is just to have fun. Anything that brings you joy raises your vibration. If you have a passion, something you love to do for the sheer joy of it, some kind of beauty or activity, any time you are involved in that, you are raising your vibration. You are a tuning fork for your soul's purpose. When you are in a state of joy, your frequency rises. And so one way to manifest your perfect life and business is simply to have fun. It doesn't even have to be about the topic or the subject matter of your business or your intention. Anything that makes you happy raises your vibration. Is that not cool? "Be" in the physical experience. If there's something new you'd like in your perfect life and business, at least once a week find a way to be in a physical situation that is something like what you would like in your life. Visit a luxurious hotel lobby or show home or some other place that is like the environment in which you'd like to live or work. Hang out in places where the kind of people you'd like to have in your life hang out. Daydream. At least 5 minutes every day, take a few deep breaths, close your eyes, and imagine being in your absolutely perfect situation. Splash around in its energy. In your imagination, be outrageously happy. Imagine the sights, sounds, textures, tastes and smells. Imagine your emotions and even your thoughts in this delightful happy situation. It may seem odd, but daydreaming is actually one of the most practical things you can do. And finally... Your Coaching Challenge Three things to raise your vibration this week: 1. Have fun every day. For at least 5 minutes every day, do something that will be an experience of pure joy, pure fun, pure delight. 2. Every day, for at least 5 minutes, daydream. Enjoy splashing around in the energy of the fabulous life you have created for yourself. Going Global For at least 5 minutes every day, daydream about your idea of a perfect world. If you can think of some action that would create an example of that wherever you are, do it. I wasn't particularly playing attention. We were at recess or lunch hour or something.
Hi,
Love this entry. I've played the piano for years but never thought about the tuning fork analogy. Very clever! I have fun every day and wish the whole world would. Way too serious out there. Glad you are encouraging it. Thx
